Rite-Lix® Horse Bloc

For all classe of horses

Net Weight: 27.2 kg    Product #: 170225

Masterfeeds Rite-Lix Horse Bloc is a molasses-based block for all classes of horses. Appropriate for foals, weanlings, yearlings, pregnant and lactating mares, breeding stallions and performance horses. These blocks are manufactured through a controlled and precise cooking process where molasses is dehydrated, cooled and then blended with protein, vitamins, minerals and trace nutrients. Rite-Lix Horse Bloc is a consistently hard block that will not crack or crumble and it is impervious to weather. Rite-Lix Blocs can’t be bitten or chewed. Rite-Lix Horse Bloc is appropriate for situations where pastures may be of diminished quality, such as late fall or winter pastures and during times of drought.

Feeding Directions

Masterfeeds Rite-Lix Horse Bloc is designed for self-feeding to all classes or horses. Place containers in dry spots near loafing areas and watering locations. Free-choice consumption will depend on climate, size of the animals fed, as well as quality, source and availability of other feeds. Providing this block to equines while housed in stalls will increase consumption.

Feed at the rate of one container for every 15 to 20 heads. Provide a minimum of two containers in each lot or pasture to ensure proper accessibility. Horses typically consume between 450 grams and 1.1 kilos per head daily.

Features & Benefits

Essential nutrients.
For horses on all-pasture diets or those receiving unfortified grain concentrates.

Exceedingly low moisture levels.
No chemical hardeners or binders are needed.

Free choice protein, vitamin and mineral block supplement.
For all classes of horses.

Notes:
When horses are first introduced to molasses-based blocks it is common for them to consume more than the expected level for a short period of time. Horses who are not receiving any other type of mineral supplementation are especially prone to over consumption perhaps due to underlying dietary deficiencies. For horses confined to small areas, novelty and herd dynamics may also play a part in initial over consumption. Consumption should stabilize within two weeks. If it continues to be high you should re-evaluate your overall feeding program to be sure your animals nutritional needs are being met. If a dominant horse is over consuming out of a desire to keep the other horses away from the block, consider placing another block in the pasture away from the first one.
Provide free-choice access to fresh water.
